Omexom Spain performed the design, engineering and construction of the Brazoinves solar power plant in Ciudad Real, Spain.
Located in Ciudad Real, Spain, the Brazoinves solar power plant covers 73 hectares and is composed of 69,440 solar panels. Of these, 34,888 are 545 Wp units; the remaining 34,552 are 550 Wp units. Omexom Spain completed the design, engineering and construction work between April and December 2023.
In collaboration with their customer, Q Energy, the Omexom teams developed the plant’s safety, surveillance and control systems (PPC – Power Plant Control). These systems provide controlled access and real-time status monitoring to ensure the installation’s secure, efficient operation. Two weather stations were also installed to provide precise forecasts and protect the technological equipment.
Omexom Spain had committed to minimising its environmental impact in executing this project. The measures adopted included reduced use of fossil fuels, minimal soil disturbance, and the creation of high nature value areas. Planted screens were installed around the perimeter fence, and wildlife passages created to promote the conservation of local flora and fauna.
