Smart irrigation system in Florence
In collaboration with Axians Italy, the city of Florence has reduced its water consumption by 30% by implementing a smart irrigation system as part of the European project “Replicate”, which also involves the partner cities of San Sebastian in Spain and Bristol in the UK.
In collaboration with Axians Italy, the city of Florence has reduced its water consumption by 30% by implementing a smart irrigation system as part of the European project “Replicate”, which also involves the partner cities of San Sebastian in Spain and Bristol in the UK.
IoT architecture was built for Florence to enable the city to reduce its water consumption and optimise the time operators spend carrying out checks in the field. A data platform consolidates the information gathered in the field and transfers them to the city’s control centre.
Following on from this initial milestone, the city is looking to move into other local services, such as mobility, tourism and civil protection.
