Fire protection at a paper mill in Germany
Calanbau Brandschutzanlagen GmbH -Augsburg installed the sprinkler system at the new paper mill opened by the Palm group, one of Europe’s largest paper and packaging manufacturers, at its head office in Aalen-Neukochen (Baden-Württemberg).
The Palm group and Papierfabrik Palm has its registered office at the plant in Aalen, where it was founded. In addition to three machines for corrugated paper, the facility houses the central administrative and business management teams for the three paper mills in Germany, which produce a total of 380,000 tonnes of paper each year.
As part of this contract, Calanbau Brandschutzanlagen GmbH -Augsburg was tasked with upgrading the fire protection system, installing 17 fire alarm control panels, 500 smoke detectors and 29,370 m of lines in the water distribution piping system, which is connected to 17,650 sprinklers.
