The town of Boulogne-sur-Mer entrusted Citeos teams with the design and installation of solar panels on the walkway across the Pont de l’Entente Cordial.
Having awarded them the lighting batch for the Pont de l’Entente Cordiale enhancement project in 2022, the town of Boulogne-sur-Mer has again placed its trust in the same Citeos teams for the design and installation of solar panels on the bridge’s walkway, to help meet the town’s immediate and future energy needs.
The aim of the installation is to provide one-fifth of the council building’s annual electricity requirement by 2024.
In total, 100 solar panels were installed and commissioned in December 2023, with installed power output of 37 kWp and annual production of 40 MWh. This is equivalent to the consumption of around 400 public lighting points.
The installation was sized for the town hall to consume 95% of energy produced on the bridge.
The structure currently meets fixed targets relating to the town hall’s annual consumption, supplying 17% of the energy consumed.
