The Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore business unit team was recently awarded a contract by Luxcara, the sustainable energy infrastructure asset manager, for the technical planning of the WATERKANT offshore wind farm. This windfarm, with a total capacity of 270+ MW, is to be built some 90 kilometres off the island of Borkum. It is scheduled to come into operation in 2028. 

In the coming years, Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore will be supporting and coordinating the planning and development of the project as a technical consultant. Initially, the focus will be on the comprehensive approval steps for the construction of the wind farm and the calls for tenders for the main trades.
