Omexom Australia collaborators organised a sports challenge to raise funds for the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque charity.
Since 2017, VINCI Energies has been supporting Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, a charity that brings children with heart abnormalities to France for surgical treatment if the financial and technical means to treat them are not available in their home countries.
This year, Omexom Australia collaborators decided to organise a sports challenge to raise money for them. On 16 April 2024, five collaborators – Dominique Giraud, William Chandrasekar, Mark Tolley, Peter Bell and Raphaël Di Piazza – transformed their daily commute into a sporting challenge. They elected to run, cycle or paddle a kayak along Melbourne’s Yarra River to their company headquarters in Laverton North, Victoria.
The business unit committed to donating one Australian dollar to Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque for every reaction to social media posts about the challenge. At the end of the challenge, Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque received a total of AUD 9,862.
