On 22 May 2024, Omexom Germany received an academic award for contributing to the economic advancement of the Kleve area, with a project undertaken with the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
The aim of a joint project between Omexom Germany and the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is to replace the diesel or petrol-operated generators often required on construction sites. As part of this project, students are working on development of a substitute electric generator powered by hydrogen.
Omexom Germany provided the teams working on the project with a hybrid metal battery and fuel cell to help advance research and development in renewable energy. On 22 May, the project received an award at the Forum Kreis Kleve in Germany, and will be incorporated into Omexom Germany’s new energyLab project, where its teams will continue to work on innovative solutions for the energy sector. This new laboratory is due to open in July 2024.
