PRIMATICE is a patented climate ceiling solution designed by VINCI Energies Building Solutions and chosen by Icade pour for its Le Cologne building in Rungis.
Creating resilient buildings means renovating them in a more considered and sustainable way to address climate issues, using better-performing materials and technologies. That is why Icade has chosen to trial the PRIMATICE solution in its La Cologne building in Rungis, south of Paris. According to Icade, this building, the headquarters of VINCI Energies company Phibor Entreprises, is now aligned with a 4 °C warming scenario, thanks to the PRIMATICE solution and a major renovation of the building.
The PRIMATICE solution incorporates heating, climate control, acoustics and lighting. It uses air as the sole energy vector to provide evenly distributed thermal comfort. Its design consumes fewer resources throughout the building’s life cycle and reduces maintenance costs.
A less resource-intensive solution
PRIMATICE capitalises on a building’s thermal inertia to improve energy efficiency in its heating and climate control systems. It means fewer resources are consumed during the design phase and throughout the building’s entire life cycle, for example by avoiding the installation of “active” devices such as fan coil units, and because no water is consumed.
Reliability and optimised costs
PRIMATICE is notable for its exclusive use of air as the energy vector, eliminating the risks of leaks and condensation associated with conventional hydraulic systems. This choice of technology enhances its sustainability and reduces the need for maintenance, reducing operating costs by approximately 25% over nine years.(1)
Unrivalled thermal comfort
The PRIMATICE radiant ceiling panels offer full thermal comfort with uniform heat evenly distributed around the room. Air quality is also improved thanks to increased airflow, and the system is silent in operation.
Aesthetics for all your architectural projects
With an above-panel thickness of just 6 cm, this solution maximises ceiling height. PRIMATICE also integrates perfectly with every architectural style, from the traditional to the contemporary.
“PRIMATICE meets the needs of building users who want a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing working environment,” says Guillaume Rabut, Project Manager at VINCI Energies Building Solutions. “It also helps reduce resource consumption and shrinks the building’s carbon footprint by 20% to 40%(2) in the design and operational phases.”
