Large-scale energy infrastructure in the Netherlands

Omexom GA Energo will be part of a major energy project in the Netherlands led by the Dutch company TenneT. Project works over the next 10 years include the construction of 400 kilometres of new extra-high-voltage lines and the modernisation of 600 kilometres of existing lines.

Omexom GA Energo recently signed a major framework contract with TenneT, an important electricity distribution network operator in the Netherlands and across Europe. This contract, worth approximately €1.75 billion, involves four partners, who will collaborate to create and modernise energy infrastructure in the Netherlands.

As part of the project, Omexom GA Energo will help to construct 400 km of new high-voltage overhead lines and modernise 600 km of existing lines, which will increase transmission capacity by 30%. During the works phase, the business unit will also oversee the introduction of innovative and sustainable technologies with the aim of reducing the project’s CO2 emissions and minimising its environmental impact.

“We are honoured to be part of this project, which consolidates our position as one of the leaders in the European energy infrastructure sector,” says Zdeněk Židek, Managing Director of Omexom GA Energo. “This framework contract demonstrates our ability to complete technically ambitious projects while maintaining a focus on sustainability and innovation.”

A crucial aspect of the agreement is the partners’ commitment to abide by the Covenant on Clean and Emission-free Building, which commits stakeholders to having a minimal impact on the environment at every stage of a project.
