La Baule-Escoublac in western France has inaugurated its network of charging stations, designed, installed and operated by Easy Charge – demonstrating the town’s commitment to local electric mobility and reinforcing its vision for a more sustainable future.
The mayor of La Baule-Escoublac Franck Louvrier and Amparo Gil Ibanez, head of development at Easy Charge, a VINCI Energies and VINCI Autoroutes joint venture, recently inaugurated the public electric charging network, which has been rolled out throughout the town. With guidance from Artelia, an engineering consultancy firm, after a call for private initiatives the local council tasked Easy Charge Services, a subsidiary of Easy Charge and the Fund for the Ecological Modernisation of Transport (FMET), with the design, roll-out, management and development of this service.
The network is made up of 23 charging stations located in the different neighbourhoods of La Baule-Escoublac and has a total of 51 terminals offering up to 22 kW of alternating current, as well as 13 fast charging terminals that offer 60 kW to 120 kW of direct current. Each terminal has two charging points, so two vehicles can recharge simultaneously.
As an operator-developer, Easy Charge Services takes care of the funding, installation and operation of this public network, which has been designed and scaled to meet the needs of the region and adapt accordingly as it changes. Easy Charge Services has also harnessed the expertise of Citeos (VINCI Energies) and Lucitea Atlantique (a VINCI Energies business unit) to develop and maintain the network.
“This network of 128 charging points was scaled to meet not only the needs of local residents, but also the many tourists who come to the region for their summer holidays. That’s why it offers different charging capacities to cover all uses, from standard charging for residents to fast charging for temporary users and professionals,” said Amparo Gil Ibanez, head of development at Easy Charge.
