At the end of 2022, several VINCI Energies business units joined forces to help children from the Igreja de Carmelo parish in Angola.
Employees from the Cegelec Oil & Gas, Comsip and VINCI Energies Oil & Gas business units donated 25 kg of children’s clothes as part of a collection at the Plaine St Denis offices (in the Seine-Saint-Denis department to the north-east of Paris). Actemium Oil & Gas Maintenance contributed to the collection by donating sportswear for the children.
Staff in Angola also played a part in the initiative by delivering the clothes to the Actemium Angola company. The donated clothes were then distributed, in cooperation with the Igreja de Carmelo parish, to Sister Irmã Clotilde, who has been taking in very poor children, and in some cases even abandoned by their parents, for around 30 years.
Other initiatives aimed at continuing to support the parish are in place, and new collections are due to be organised in Saint-Denis to help these children in need.
