Axians has just inaugurated a new engineering centre in the city of Castelo Branco (Portugal) to provide services in the areas of cybersecurity, cloud and managed services, data analytics and augmented reality.
Lisbon, March 6, 2020 – Axians has just inaugurated a new engineering centre in the city of Castelo Branco to provide services in the areas of Cybersecurity, Cloud and Managed Services, Data Analytics and Augmented Reality. The teams, based in the Centre for Innovative Enterprises (CEi), currently include 34 Portuguese talents, the majority of whom are recent graduates from the city’s Polytechnic Institute. By 2022, the centre expects to reach 80 employees.
The opening of the space happens following a nine-month certified training programme for the new employees enabling them to acquire the knowledge and expertise needed to provide the relevant digital services.
According to Pedro Afonso, CEO at VINCI Energies in Portugal, owner of the Axians brand, “Today is a celebration day. We are opening a new engineering centre that, in addition to reflecting the growth of Axians in Portugal, is also a centre of development for the professions of the future which compose the digital world. This decision enables us to invest in qualified Portuguese talent and helps the region to keep its young people and attract many others.
The new engineering centre of Axians in Castelo Branco will be a centre of development for highly differentiated services offering the employees an opportunity for career development, with conditions above the district’s average and in line with those practised in the professions of the digital world. By creating employment, the new Engineering Centre will have a direct impact on the local economy of €4.5 million by 2022.
