Acquisition of X-Rail Signalisation

VINCI Energies continues its expansion in Canada with the acquisition of XRail Signalisation.

VINCI Energies and its subsidiary TCI+, a major player in the construction of energy, communications and transport infrastructure in Quebec (Canada), have announced the acquisition of X-Rail Signalisation, a business specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of railway signalling systems.

With the addition of X-Rail Signalisation, VINCI Energies consolidates its position in Quebec’s rail transport market, and more broadly, rail-based public transport, a sector offering excellent prospects in Canada.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategy of expansion in Canadian energy and transport infrastructure,” says Philippe Peter, Managing Director of VINCI Energies Canada Infra. “Synergies with TCI+ and its subsidiaries, and with our business units specialising in this segment in Europe, will enable us to offer even greater performance and safety in our solutions across the entire territory.”

Key expertise for modernisation and safety across the Canadian rail network

Founded in 1996, X-Rail Signalisation is renowned for its expertise in rail safety. Its services include:

  • Installation and maintenance of railway signalling systems.
  • Modernisation and refurbishment of existing equipment.
  • Verification of compliance with safety standards.
  • Rapid emergency response to ensure optimal performance across railway infrastructure.

A powerful commitment to low-carbon transport

VINCI Energies offers solutions to current challenges in mobility and sustainable transport that could prove extremely beneficial in Canada, where numerous projects are under way to improve rail corridors and modernise infrastructure. Canada’s shortline railways are a good example of this, playing a crucial role in linking local communities and industries to the major national rail networks and ports.
