VINCI Energies has signed a €50 million public-private partnership (PPP) contract with the Land of Schleswig-Holstein covering design, construction and operation of the new Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences in Kiel.
The new building, an 11,000 sq. metre, six-storey facility, will be located on Christian-Albrecht University campus, houses six institutes and includes offices for an IT centre. The locations will be flexible so that they can be easily rearranged to accommodate evolving requirements.
The 33 months works phase encompasses design and construction of the building, redeveloping the outdoor areas and delivery dock, connecting the laboratory units and equipping them entirely.
The design aims to achieve high environmental performance standards on the BNBassessment system for sustainable buildings, managed by the German Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
The operation phase will begin in April 2024 and last 25 years. It covers in particular maintenance, inspections, repairs, upkeep, cleaning, winter management, concierge services, energy management and 24-hour assistance.
VINCI Energies has worked on about 20 PPPs in Germany since 2004.
