Sustainable renovation

In Amsterdam, Verkerk has been working with Bosman on the project to renovate the Gaudi building.

Located close to the Johan Cruyff Arena in southwest Amsterdam, the Gaudi office building was recently transformed into “boutique” offices. Vega Projects is responsible for the renovation of this eight-storey building with floor space of around 8,600 square metres, which will provide the teams that take up residence there with pleasant workspaces, offices and a shared social space, along with a restaurant, fitness centre and meeting rooms.

Structural modifications were made to the building during the works phase, which was completed in 2022. The technical solutions provider Bosman was responsible for mechanical engineering (heat pumps and distribution network) and electrical installations. Bosman also assigned Verkerk to work on adapting the control system.

Verkerk’s tasks included the transformation of existing control cabinets and management systems on each level. They also supplied the control equipment and hardware from Priva, and designed bespoke software to meet the project’s requirements.

The renovation has made the Gaudi building more efficient and sustainable. Thanks to these improvements, it now offers a modern working environment tailored to its users’ needs.
